Frequently Asked Questions

Questions our community had before they joined and after.

If we don't answer it here, we'll answer it in our 1-on-1.

Q: How will this actually help me operate better?

A: Many [small, medium and corporate] restaurants teach their managers what is necessary to achieve their individual financial goals, or that of their investors. Some groups are a lot more involved than others, and some do invest in "higher quality" training, but again, the end goal is always to satisfy the needs of the company. What we teach are philosophies, concepts, and systems that are not only transferable to other roles, sites, and industries — but they're also scalable and carry a ton of value for personal development as well.

Q: My company already teaches us how to do scheduling, train staff, and manage. What's different?

A: Your company teaches you how to run the shift from the technical perspective. Very few companies take the effort to teach you concepts, management philosophy, and frameworks because they simply don't have the time to stop an operation to do so. What we teach become your intangibles, the difference makers. We both sharpen your blade and hone it. The impacts of these concepts and systems create a ripple effect within your team, site and organization. You become the HIGH VALUE ASSET.

Q: Is this like a course?

A: Not at all. We are industry people. We understand that there is rarely a moment to just sit back and do something other than work (that's all going to change). This is a self-paced eBook that you can read through in about 30-40 minutes.

Q: What if I don't understand how to apply the concepts?

A: Totally understandable. We want you to not only understand, but we want to celebrate your success and achievements. From the day of purchase, up until 30 days after, you can reach out to us and ask us any questions. You have free 1-on-1 support to get your questions answered, and even guidance on how to approach a specific problem you're facing by using the concepts and systems.

Q: What made you guys want to make this?

A: We used to be those managers at one point. Superb work ethic, always running around, everywhere all at once, fighting fires, answering a million questions from every staff member in the building. Being pulled in a million directions with a million and one tasks to do, not only at the store level but to satisfy corporate demands as well. It was taxing. The work became less fun, less fulfilling, less rewarding and dread took over. Then we realized that it did not have to be like this and that as good as we were, there were certainly inefficiencies and break downs in the systems. How else can you explain that everyone else received role specific training, but always came to the one person in charge to ask questions about their job? That led us to build and compile what eventually became "Built To Run". Even before I wrote this eBook, me and my peers executed all the concepts, systems and frameworks that I have laid out in here at our own operations and over a matter of a under a year, we started to see some incredible results. This was when we knew that the problem wasn't people, it was systems and lack of education. We wanted to share this with everyone so that not only could they get their lives back, but the industry gets a genuine lift in quality. As a customer, visiting a restaurant that's running BTR concepts, you notice and feel the difference. The experience is 10x more satisfying than the place that is winging it or the one that is broken.
